LIONS HIT THE ROAD FOR COLORADO
Lions to face Real Colorado in a pair of weekend matches.

St Louis, MO – The St Louis Lions hit the road this weekend for a pair of matches against the Real Colorado Foxes. Saturday the Lions will kick off against Real Colorado at 8:00pm Central time and then again on Sunday at 2:00pm.
The Lions are coming off a spectacular 1-0 victory over the Des Moines Menace. The Lions battled hard, with only 9 men, to hold off the Menace. Johan Sundberg scored the only goal of the match that lifted the Lions to victory and get the first win of the season.
Real Colorado is coming off a 3-0 victory over BYU. Colorado was lead by Oliver Gore, who scored a pair of goals in the matchup.
“Colorado is a very disciplined team and always very competitive. We will have to play a very sound game and repeat the performance from last week” said Glavin.
Last season the team split the series when Colorado visited the Lions. In the first game Colorado won 2-1 and the Lions took the 2nd game 3-0.

After the series this weekend the Lions will hit the road for another pair of games in Thunder Bay, Canada. The Lions will return home on June 16th for a 5:00pm matchup against visiting Winnipeg WSA. Tickets for the game are on sale now at www.stllions.com for only $8.00.
The St. Louis Lions are entering their seventh season in the PDL. The St Louis Lions provided an opportunity for players to be exposed to professional scouts throughout the United States and Internationally. Currently the Lions have assisted in placing twelve player’s into the professional ranks in the United States and Internationally.
The USL PDL had another outstanding number of players selected at the Major League Soccer SuperDraft in Kansas City, Mo. Overall, USL PDL alumni made up 26 of the 38 players selected, more than two-thirds, with six players taken in the Top 10. Leading the way was former Reading United and Carolina Dynamo standout Andrew Wenger, who was selected No.1 overall.
The USL PDL has now had 111 alumni selected in the past three years of the MLS SuperDraft, an average of more than 70 percent of the selections made. The leading amateur soccer league in North American, the USL PDL continues to offer the opportunity for growth and development during the summer as players work toward their goals of turning professional.
The St. Louis Lions are a member of the United Soccer League’s (USL) Premier Development League, where players have the ability to compete in the PDL throughout the summer months in a professionalized setting while maintaining their collegiate eligibility.
